About Us

100% First Nation-owned and operated

Building Sustainable Commercial Fishing

Salish Strait Seafoods Ltd. is a 100% First Nation–owned and operated commercial fishing enterprise serving the Salish Sea and Vancouver Island. Headquartered in Ladysmith, BC, and managed by Minetown Initiatives, we operate a multi-species commercial fishing enterprise that supports meaningful employment, training, and long-term economic development for our communities.

Together, we build a sustainable, community-driven business that reflects our values as stewards of the ocean.

Owned & Operated by First Nations

Indigenous leadership guides our governance, operations, and community investment, ensuring we remain grounded in the values of the Peoples whose waters we harvest.

Community & Culture

Our profits fuel programs that nurture cultural continuity and bolster local well-being—connecting today’s work with tomorrow’s generations.

Sustainable Approach

We are committed to responsible harvesting and strategic partnerships that honour and respect the marine territories we call home.
